I had the opportunity to appear on Good Day Orange County, a local-television variety show. You may ask, how is it that I ended up on a California-based show when I live in DC. Well, when you know good people, they tend to introduce you to more good people, and sometimes exciting opportunities just organically present themselves.

My friend Danny Boylen released a fantastic cookbook — read my review, and find the sales link here. Danny was put in touch with Lauren Solomon of Good Day OC by a mutual friend, and appeared on the show to promote his book. At the book launch party, where I had the pleasure of interviewing Danny in person for the attendees, I met Lauren. And when asked if I would appear on Good Day OC, I was more than happy to oblige.

Lauren is insightful, thoughtful, and easy to talk to — and with fascinating stories of her own. Her segments on Good Day OC cover an impressive range of subjects, experiences, and points of view. The interviews come in an approachable, upbeat, 15–20 minute format — perfect for watching over a quick bowl of morning granola.

Check out my interview to learn about my vision for The All Purpose Kitchen; how The All Purpose Kitchen got started; my recipe development philosophy, and why you can trust the content here; and get to know the author behind the recipes. I hope you enjoy the video!
